Solid steel/security roller shutters
A solid curtain is an option where privacy and a closed frontage matter more than an after-hours view into the premises. Discuss the opening, surrounding structure, finish and operating method as one specification. If a rated-security system is required, ask for evidence for the complete proposed assembly rather than relying on the word “steel”.
Insulated roller shutters
Consider an insulated system where the separation between internal and external conditions is part of the brief. The proposed profile, construction and documented performance should be checked against the project. No universal thermal value, noise reduction or energy saving is assumed across the range.
Perforated roller shutters
Perforated curtains offer a different balance between a closed frontage and visibility through it. Discuss the display, lighting, privacy and the appearance you want when the shutter is lowered. The selected profile determines the actual open area and sight lines.
Punched and glazed roller shutters

How long does installation take?
Most standard installations finish in one day where applicable. Opening size, removal of existing equipment, site access, preparation and the agreed specification can change the time on site. The installation duration is separate from the routine 5–10 working-day project lead time and from 24/7 emergency repair availability.
