Compare shutter types by the result you need

• Solid curtain: suited to a brief that prioritises full visual closure and privacy.
• Perforated curtain: retains partial view-through and airflow while presenting a mostly closed surface.
• Punched or glazed curtain: uses larger vision openings; the exact opening pattern and any inserts must be named in the quotation.
• Open rolling grille: provides the strongest visual connection with a display or interior and allows the greatest airflow.

Operation, controls and site conditions

Manual and powered operation are not interchangeable promises. Suitability depends on the curtain, opening size, frequency of use and approved system. A powered shutter also requires an agreed control method, electrical responsibility, safe operation strategy and handover information. The surrounding construction must be suitable for the guides and support arrangement, and the available headroom must be checked for the coil, barrel or housing.
