Glazing is not chosen by appearance alone: glass make-up, safety needs, panel size and the way the frontage is used must be recorded by the responsible project team.

Door hardware and everyday use

Discuss opening direction, closer, hinges or pivots, handles, locking, access control, thresholds and the expected number and type of users. If automatic operation is requested, it becomes a separate powered-door specification with risk assessment, safety devices, commissioning and maintenance requirements. Do not add automatic-door or security-performance claims to this category unless the quoted system supports them.

Finish, care and coordination

Powder-coated or other finish options may be available, but the exact colour reference, sheen, substrate preparation and supplier availability must be approved in writing. Aluminium is generally straightforward to clean, while doors, closers, locks, seals and drainage paths still need inspection and care. Coordinate the shopfront with the fascia, shutter, floor level and adjacent finishes before manufacture to avoid visible gaps and unclear making-good responsibilities.
